Responsible gaming

Betting should stay a game. Here is how to keep it one, and where to turn if it stops being fun.

Play within your means

  • Only bet money you can afford to lose. Never borrow to play.
  • Decide before you start how much you will spend and for how long, and stop when you reach it.
  • Do not chase losses: a bigger bet to win it back usually loses more.
  • Take breaks. Do not play when you are upset, tired or have been drinking.

Warning signs

Spending more than you planned, hiding your betting from people close to you, or feeling anxious when you are not playing are signs to stop and talk to someone.

Limits and pausing your account

Your balance only grows by cash you pay at your shop, so you always choose how much goes in. To pause or close your account, or to ask for a limit on what you can add, speak to your shop: it can suspend your account at once.

Adults only

You must be 18 or older to play. Shops check this when they open an account. If you know a minor is using an account, tell the shop.
